Special education law is extremely complex and disputes in this area often give rise to litigation.
This online course will help you better understand how to provide all students with a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE), and properly address complex issues related to discipline and due process.
Course participants will gain a deeper understanding of the following topics:
- The legal parameters for determining whether or not student behavior is a manifestation of a student's disability
- The student discipline and other options available for addressing improper student conduct
- Key steps to ensure that IEPs are being properly implemented, and obligations related to child find
