Using Summative Assessment to Drive System Change

This course, which was co-developed by FEA and ETS, includes five modules that are intended to help teachers develop and deepen their summative assessment literacy and understanding of the components of a balanced assessment system. The following topics are covered by the five modules:

• Module 6: Performance Assessment
• Module 7: Common Summative Assessment
• Module 8: Interim Assessment
• Module 9: State Summative Assessment
• Module 10: Putting It All Together

Performance Assessment, Common Summative Assessment, Interim Assessment, State Summative Assessment, and Putting It All Together. Each module will use a combination of readings, case studies, and discussion questions. The course is designed for teams of teachers and additional resources are provided for independent learners.

Prerequisite: Assessment Literacy and the Power of Formative Assessment self-paced course.
